There’s really no place for fighting in any professional sport (sans hockey, possibly), but with so much pressure and emotion flowing they occasionally happen.

That includes at the high school level where a brawl between Arvada and Alameda in Lakewood, Colo. recently broke out, though it’s not the kids involved who are drawing the attention.

In fact, it’s one of the coaches who seemingly grabbed a player by her hair and ended up throwing her out of the ruckus.

Video was recording when the two teams engaged in the fist fight and that’s when Arvada head coach Roger Griffin made his way onto the court in effort to prevent Areeon Frilot from helping her brawling teammates.

Obviously putting hands on a player is unacceptable on the part of Griffin though it’s difficult to tell his intentions. Was he simply attempting to stop Frilot from making an already bad situation worse and accidentally grabbed her in that way in a panic? Or was he attempting to send a message and purposely performed such?

Whatever the case, the video is not good and proves that fighting of any sort should not be accepted at the high school level.

In addition, players should be extremely well informed that leaving the bench during a fight will result in being kicked off the team because the addition of extra bodies from both sides would simply make a bad situation even worse.

Video of the fight has went viral and recently was featured on a local Colorado news station. Frilot was punished for attempting to run on the floor which Griffin was not. Fair or foul?
