If you ask most fans which team has the better quarterback, Brady would be the likely answer.
However, a quick look at the numbers will actually show you that conventional wisdom is wrong. Since 2008, it is Joe Flacco who has been the better quarterback of the two in postseason play — and it isn’t even close.
Flacco has the most postseason road wins in NFL history with seven, the most playoff wins since 2008 (10) and his .714 playoff winning percentage is the sixth-most of all-time (with a minimum of ten starts).
Out of his 14 playoff games, Flacco has six games with a passer rating of 100+. In the same timeframe, Tom Brady has just two games with a passer rating over 100.
While the statline doesn’t always tell the story, this time the numbers do not lie.
Joe Flacco, while he may have his struggles during the regular season, is a great quarterback when the bright lights shine and the games really count. One may even venture to say he is *gasp* elite.
We will find out if Flacco can continue his postseason success and add another road win to his NFL record this weekend or whether it will be Brady who gets the win.
