Ohio State and Oregon are in the second quarter of the first national championship game as part of the College Football Playoff but there was a bit of a scandal that took place moments after the coin toss.

Nike tweeted out a picture that offered looked like a wonderful image on the surface. The image showed great detail on the coin as captains from the Ducks and Bucks looked on with controlled rage.

There’s just one problem with this picture.

Did any of those players look familiar to you? Did you see Marcus Mariota or the captains from either side?

I didn’t think so, because you know what? It’s a staged picture.

Yes, the folks at Nike pulled a fast one on you and this is not a real shot from the actual game taking place.

The photo is a real image and not photoshopped in any way so technically it’s still a really cool picture, but it has nothing to do with the game we’re all watching on ESPN.

Why would Nike do something like this and present something to be real when it clearly took about .3 seconds to realize is not?
