New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had some words of advice for the Baltimore Ravens following this weekend’s game: “Study the rule book.”

During Saturday’s divisional round playoff matchup between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens, Tom Brady drove the Patriots down the field from a formation that included just four offensive linemen.

The formation left ineligible skill position players lined up wide, while the Ravens were forced to guess who was eligible and who was not.

Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh was one of many that were unhappy with the so-called trickeration from the Patriots.

“Nobody’s ever seen that before,” Harbaugh said, via the Associated Press. “It’s not something anybody’s ever done before. The league will look at that type of thing and I’m sure that they’ll make some adjustments.”

Harbaugh was eventually flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after arguing with the officials.

While members of the Baltimore Ravens may have felt duped, Tom Brady just thinks they need to spend some time looking over the rule book to avoid being caught off guard again.

“Maybe those guys gotta study the rule book and figure it out,” Brady said after the game, via USA Today. “We obviously knew what we were doing and we made some pretty important plays. It was a real good weapon for us. Maybe we’ll have something in store next week.”

It may rub some people the wrong way, but he Patriots and Tom Brady did everything within the rules.

Considering the defense should be able to locate eligible and ineligible wide receivers during their pre-snap reads, this bit of confusion is on the Baltimore Ravens and not jedi Bill Belichick.
