Johnny Manziel’s first season in the NFL was pretty rough, but his teammates aren’t totally buying into the Manziel-shaming that is going on.

When the Cleveland Browns drafted Johnny Manziel this past summer, there were many who thought his rookie season would end in disaster.

His detractors weren’t wrong, as the one-and-a-half starts that Manziel managed at the end of the year with the Browns was a spectacular failure and the fallout from it was even worse. Actually, to call it worse would be to say that we didn’t all assume it was going to crash and burn when we all did.

But the hate that is being spewed about Manziel isn’t something that all of his teammates are buying into. There were reports that there was a lot of dissent in the Browns locker room over Manziel being there and his work ethic which is something Joe Haden is not going to play into.

According to NFL Network reporter Marc Sessler, Joe Haden isn’t buying into the media hype that has slammed Johnny Manziel over the course of this season.

Things started out bad with Manziel, as Browns ownership went out of their way to show a lack of faith in his skills a a way of tough love that backfired in the most hilarious of ways. This was followed by a year in which the Browns finally saw capable quarterback play by Brian Hoyer which delayed the Manziel disaster even longer.

Haden is a veteran and a star on the Browns roster though, and his not buying into the Manziel hate is significant. It doesn’t correct the problem though, as Manziel is the only man who can fix his problems.
