Krispy Kreme lands Georgia recruit
Donuts have landed Georgia a big time recruit
Recruiting makes or breaks a college program and a coaches career. Georgia head coach Mark Richt was able to land prospect Sam Madden with an unusual recruiting tool: Krispy Kreme. The trip to the popular doughnut franchise had a lasting impact, that brought the former Wisconsin Badgers prospect down to Georgia where he quickly committed to the program.

The at-home feel Richt provided was enough to convince Madden to join the program. Not many people can resist the temptation of Krispy Kreme, and it appears neither can Madden.
The delicious taste of the original glazed doughnuts can make anyone be persuaded to do anything and in this case Madden committed to the Bulldogs.
"Late Friday night, Dave Madden, Sam’s father, and Richt decided to head over to Krispy Kreme and grab a few donuts before they tuckered out for the evening. According to Derek Cleveland, the father of Class of 2016 five-star lineman Ben, who was also at Georgia this weekend, said it really let the Madden family know they picked the right place.“I know one of the things that Dave said Friday night after they kind of settled down a little bit, was he and Mark Richt went to Krispy Kreme to get some donuts,” Cleveland said. “He thought that was just the coolest thing in the world that the head coach at Georgia would just take time and they would do that.”Late Friday night, Dave Madden, Sam’s father, and Richt decided to head over to Krispy Kreme and grab a few donuts before they tuckered out for the evening. In a loaded SEC, Georgia continues to stockpile recruits to compete with the likes of Alabama in hopes of making the College Football Playoff.
Madden, stands at a gigantic 6-foot-7 with a massive 328-pound frame, and he is still in high school. It’s easy to see why Georgia went after him. Any time you can get a prospect with that size and power to be out blocking in front of you, you have to go after him.
Considering the defenses in the SEC, Madden will be a welcomed addition to the Georgia offensive line.
At 328 pounds and being the size of the Hulk, one has to wonder how many donuts Madden can devour at one time.
