Spotify is now available for Playstation 3 and 4 owners.
The popular music streaming app – which is free with ads or $10 per month for a premium account – has over 60 million active users worldwide and replaced Sony’s own Music Unlimited service on Monday.
Sony announced that the new partnership with Spotify expands its music service to 41 countries as opposed to just the 19 available with Music Unlimited.
Spotify will also help offer better tools for playlists and music discovery.
Users will now be able to play music from Spotify and play games at the same time – a unique feature which can enhance a gamer’s experience.
You can also connect your phone to your PS4 using Spotify’s Connect feature to use your phone as a remote control to change the songs.
According to Spotify’s global head of communications and public policy, Jonathan Prince, the app has already become a big success as it was installed on more than 1.5 million Playstation consoles on the first day:
Playstation gamers can download the app from the Playstation Store and sign up for Spotify on the console itself.
Existing Spotify members however, can sign in to the Playstation app with their usual sign-in details.
