The UAB Football program will be making its triumphant return and the fans could not be happier

It truly was devastating news last year when the UAB Football program was basically thrown in the dumpster. No, they’re not a perennial national championship contender and maybe never will be, but they’re a competitive program nonetheless and genuinely fun to watch. But, as with a lot of things, politics came into play and the football program was thrown to the wayside.

Well on Monday, this wrong was righted with the announcement that the football program will be making a return in 2016, as will the other sports that were tossed out along with it, bowling and rifling.

Obviously, this news is time for UAB fans to celebrate, and that they did…and rightfully so!

Quite frankly, while it’s awesome to watch the reaction of the fans and students, we should not even be watching this video in the first place because this is something that should have never even taken place. There was no reason for the football program to be treated like it was to begin with, but we can all be thankful that they fixed this horrible doing.

So, rejoice, UAB fans. You earned it.
