Pablo Sandoval benched for hiding in bathroom during game to use Instagram
Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval was caught liking photos of a female on Instagram during the team’s game against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.
The Boston Red Sox are at the bottom of the AL East. In fact, their season is so bad that their players are heading to the bathroom to look up good-looking women on Instagram and like their photos.

While the Braves were beating the Red Sox Wednesday night, Sandoval went on down to use the bathroom. Unfortunately, while he was down there, he broke the rule of using social media during the game.
Eagle-eyed Red Sox blogger Jared Carrabis noticed that Sandoval was liking some pictures of women on Instagram while the game was going on.
Rather than go with the classic route of claiming to be hacked, Sandoval admitted to using social media while he was down in the bathroom.
Let’s be honest, who hasn’t checked their phone while they’re in the bathroom? It’s this generation’s reading the newspaper.
The problem for Sandoval is that you can’t be doing that during a game. As a result, he is benched for the finale of the series against the Braves.
Give credit to Sandoval for owning up to using Instagram instead of claiming it was someone else. He gets a day off and the team can move on. The Red Sox aren’t exactly having the best season, and after some big off-season acquisitions, the team is failing to perform. If they don’t get it going soon, some more guys might be sneaking down to the clubhouse to check out what else is going on in the world.
