Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2016 NFL schedule released
The Pittsburgh Steelers weekly schedule for the 2016 NFL season has been released.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will enter the 2016 season after making the playoffs in 2015. They will look to build on a gutsy performance in the second round in the NFL Playoffs against the eventual Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger at the helm, Pittsburgh has a quarterback capable of taking his team to the playoffs every year assuming he is healthy.
Pittsburgh will be led by their explosive offense. Roethlisberger will not have a shortage of weapons in the arms race that is the NFL even without Martavius Bryant. His favorite weapon is wide receiver Antonio Brown, who has emerged as arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. Wide receiver Markus Wheaton and tight end Heath Miller should both help replace him. A potential dual threat in the backfield that would feature Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams could make their offense historically great.
The Steelers will face an easy path to the playoffs as far as their competition is concerned. Their strength of schedule is 0.473, which is ranked the ninth easiest schedule in the NFL. That is surprisingly easy considering that Pittsburgh was a wild card team last season and finished second in the AFC North to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pittsburgh will face the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Kansas City Chiefs at home. On the road, the Steelers will face the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, and Indianapolis Colts. Of their 16 games in 2016, only five of them will be against playoff teams and they face just two playoff teams on the road.
