The Seattle Mariners released a video on their Twitter account, introducing new celebrations other than the classic “bat flip.”

All around baseball, the “bat flip” has become a common celebration whenever a player hits a home run. The bat flip is not super complicated. You just flip the bat off to the side as you start to round the bases. Many players will use this celebration to show off or to poke fun at their opponents. Some players just toss the bat off to the side, but if you really want to have fun with your opponents, you flip the bat.

The bat flip has become so common and mainstream, that the Seattle Mariners decided it was time to create something new.

Bat flips are so last season. Come on guys, get with the times.

In the hilarious video above, the Mariners came up with a plethora of different celebrations to use rather than the classic bat flip. They created the “Swash Buckler,” the “Jockey,” the “Lullaby,” the “Grandpa,” the “Drum Major,” and finally the “Mic Drop.” Clearly, the Mariners team had a blast making this video. Obviously, this video was made in fun and we should not expect to see any of these new celebrations to make an appearance on the field this season.

Baseball season is underway and it is obvious the Mariners are ready for the MLB’s opening day, April 2. The Mariners play their first game of the season on Monday, April 3 against the Houston Astros. The Mariners finished with an 86-76 record in the American League’s West division and finished in second place. They did miss the playoffs last season and are looking to correct last year’s mistakes and make it to the postseason this year. Their manager, Scott Servais, can hopefully bring them to the playoffs after last years disappointment.
