The baseball Hall of Famer, Ken Griffey Jr, went for a spin in Mario Andretti’s car.

I’m not sure Ken Griffey Jr knew exactly what he was getting into after he accepted Andretti’s offer.

Griffey was definitely in for the ride of his life with Andretti behind the wheel. Indy cars’ top speeds range from 218 and 227 mph, which is the fastest among racing cars. Griffey was offered the opportunity to drive by Andretti, but kindly refused because he was going to “keep his eyes closed for all 14 turns.”

With two legends jumping into a car, you’re bound to have a fun time. Even if you’re not familiar with the racing world or the baseball world, you will still faintly know the name of Mario Andretti or Ken Griffey Jr. Griffey looked very tense and unsure of his decision before he hopped into the car with Andretti. But, he was in very good hands with Andretti in full control of the car.

Andretti, the retired race car driver, is one of the most decorated drivers to ever race in the states. Andretti is one of two drivers to win races in Formula One, IndyCar, World Sportscar Championship, and NASCAR. Andretti is clearly comfortable racing in any car thrown his way.

Griffey, on the other hand, is not as versed in the car racing world as Andretti is. Although he did admit that he “may have gone 100 miles per hour in a car but it was not on a track like this.” Griffey may not spend his retirement racing IndyCar’s, but I’m sure that if he ever wants to take another ride, he can just call up Andretti and they’ll go for a quick spin. Although, Griffey may just want to stick to the casual retired life of going around and playing golf like the typical retiree.
