Bednarik Award 2017 watch list announced
College Football is around the corner and the watch lists for the different awards are being released. Here are the names to watch for the Bednarik Award.
One of the most prestigious awards in all of college football is the Bednarik Award. It’s given to the best overall defender in the country and has been won by big names in the past. The most recent winner is Alabama’s Jonathan Allen, but other big names like the Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson, Rams’ Aaron Donald and Dolphins’ Ndamukong Suh have won it.
The two schools that feature the most names are the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Florida State Seminoles, with four nominees each. Here’s the full list of players that have been put on the Bednarik award watch list below:

There’s a strong success rate in the NFL for those who have been given this honor. The full list of names to watch was announced today, which includes 85 players from all of college football. semifinalists for the award will be announced on October 30 and the winner of the Bednarik Award will be revealed on December 7.
