Not wanting to be trapped in a positional box, it appears Denard Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars has a new position – “OW”.

While many players like to deem themselves an “OW” – better known as an “offensive weapon”, the Jacksonville franchise has taken it a step further by designating Robinson an OW on their official team depth chart.

The former Michigan quarterback slipped a bit in the 2013 NFL Draft as teams weren’t exactly sure what to do with the talented product. Many scouts questioned his ability to be a high level quarterback at the NFL level, but then again, would he really be any worse than say Blaine Gabbert? Okay, okay, I kid – sort of.

‘Shoelace’, as he’s known holds the most career rushing yards by any quarterback at the NCAA level along with being the only player to ever throw for 1500 yards and rush for 1500 yards in the same season.

It’s expected that Robinson will see the vast majority of the field on offense, including lining up as a running back and wide receiver in addition to being a punt/kick returner.

It’s unknown if the Jaguars have any intention of including Robinson as a quarterback in any sets.
