Moments before outfielder Hunter Pence made a miraculous catch that would save Tim Lincecum’s eventual no hitter, home plate umpire Mark Wegner took a shot right in the family jewels – courtesy of the two time Cy Young award winner.

Lincecum, who had his splitter working to perfection during the 148 pitch night was bouncing balls in the dirt throughout the evening, making San Diego Padres hitters look woeful at the dish. That’s also how Wegner looked when a Lincecum scud bounced up and hit Wegner where the sun doesn’t shine.

Thankfully, after a few moments, the home plate umpire was able to compose himself and continue the would be historic night.

The no hit bid wasn’t the only thing on the mind of Lincecum though, who clearly felt bad after hitting the long time MLB umpire.

As the ball bounced up and shot away from catcher Buster Posey, Lincecum can be seen in the GIF below reacting to Wegner’s moment of pain – clearly glad he wasn’t on the receiving end.
