In quite possibly the worst kept secret of the year, newly anointed Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis says he was ‘unhappy’ during his time with the Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s a notion that many probably figured out when Ellis reportedly told friends he ‘couldn’t wait to get out of here’ in June.

Speaking at his introductory press conference, the moped riding Ellis leveled a few shots towards the Bucks franchise, suggesting that he couldn’t play up to his ability because everything around him sucked – more or less.

Per JSOnline.com:

"“When you’re in a place where you’re unhappy, it’s very hard to perform to your best ability,” said Ellis, declining to discuss his time with the Bucks in more detail by saying he “left it in Milwaukee.”“So this is a new beginning, a new fresh start, better organization, better teammates,” he said."

Ellis was essentially given free reign in Milwaukee, something you don’t exactly what to do with a volume scorer. It showed in his statistics as he and Brandon Jennings ran amuck in an unstructured offense.

So while Ellis may have an improved campaign in Dallas this season, I’m sure the Bucks are just as happy to be rid of Ellis as Ellis to be rid of them.
