I’m not sure I’d ever really qualify a bruised lung and possible concussion as a good thing, though in the case of San Diego Chargers wide receiver/returner Eddie Royal, it might just be.

Royal, who took a hard hit earlier today during practice had to be transported off the field via ambulance, according to the San Diego Union Tribune’s Michael Gehlken:

"Eddie Royal has been loaded onto gurney, lifted into back of an ambulance"

Royal, who was down on the field momentarily got up with the assistance of trainers and began walking on his own towards the locker room. Royal than collapsed to the ground where he recieved medical attention and was taken to a local area hospital.

The Chargers released a statement informing of Royal’s bruised long and that he’s currently undergoing testing for a possible concussion.

It’s just one in a long line of injuries for San Diego receivers, who lost Danario Alexander to a season ending ACL tear earlier this training camp and Malcom Floyd to a significant knee bruise. Alexander, who was only signed to a one year deal, was waived while Floyd is hopeful to return by the end of camp.
