Friends, Week One isn’t even close to being over but I’m pretty sure we can announce the sack of the week. Hell, this might be a candidate for sack of the year and we still have sixteen more weeks to go!
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is known for his ability to perfectly time the snap count and well, I guess the Tennessee Titans and quarterback Jake Locker weren’t aware of that. If they were, well, they weren’t paying attention.
I’m guessing they’ll pay attention now.
The Pro Bowl safety, doing his best Air Jordan imitation nailed the snap perfectly (I mean, he literally couldn’t have timed that any better) and sailed over the Tennessee Titans offensive line, obliterating Locker in the process.
I mean, Locker didn’t even have enough time to take maybe more than a half step away from the center and he was already wrapped up in Polamalu’s arms. Watch it again – look how fast he’s not only over the line, but in the process of bringing Locker down.
Absolutely insane.
That’s one to throw up in the career highlight film when your playing days are over.
