Former NFL defensive back Ty Law decided to take some strange shots at the New York Jets recently, suggesting that they are not worthy of playing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, especially fellow defensive back Darrelle Revis.
Revis of course is a former New York Jet who is ‘mentored’ by Law, so apparently, there are still some hard feelings there – at least for Law.
The Jets eventually traded Revis, who has struggled with injury since. But that only gave Law more ammo as he suggested Revis sit out the opener as the Jets are the inferior team and Revis shouldn’t waste his time playing against them.
Per ESPN New York:
"“I don’t think the Jets team or the receivers are even worthy of him coming out for this game,” Law said in an interview with Sports Illustrated video. “He could’ve had the bad knee and covered these guys. He should sit out this game and wait to make a real splash.“He is absolutely the best and wants to play the best, and I think you’re going to get the best out of him if he respects the other guy,” Law continued. “But I don’t think he respects anybody on the Jets and then — you never know — what are they even playing for? I mean, they’re the type of team that might wanna get [him] hurt or try to take him out or something like that. So, I wouldn’t even play him because they’re not worthy.”"
I don’t even know where to go from there.
