The Chicago Bears have been desperate for a tight end that can catch the ball.
Martellus Bennett, who came over from the New York Giants has no issues doing such as last week he made more than a handful of jaw dropping snags, though, his most recent might be even more impressive.
Unfortunately, the end results weren’t positive though.
After escaping pressure, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler tossed a seed into the endzone where the big mitted Bennett rose above the defenders and somehow snagged a one handed, circus catch that drew him out of the endzone. Touchdown or not, it was still an insanely impressive catch.
However, Bennett’s momentum took the tight end right into a cameraman, which didn’t end well for either, especially the Bears tight end who continued to stay down on the field for quite a while.
The hit with the cameraman didn’t appear to be overly vicious, so it’s possible that Bennett knocked the wind out of himself.
He returned to the sideline for evaluation and according to the Bears Twitter feed, he will return in the near future.
