2. Aaron Dobson-WR-New England Patriots (8.3%)

Dobson is well on his way to shedding the “Drop-son” label he earned in his first game for the Patriots and has the big play ability the Pats need to stretch the defense. Dobson didn’t play week one against the Bills but has drawn double-digit targets the last two weeks converting seven of his 10 targets this week against Tampa Bay for 52 yards. He didn’t find the end zone like his teammate Kenbrell Thompkins, but looks to be a bigger part of the offense going forward.

The tricky part of the Patriots offense is anticipating who will get the passes coming their way especially with Gronk coming back soon and Danny Amendola not far behind. The size of Dobson separates him from the Amendonla-Edelman-Thompkins group giving Tom Brady a bigger target on the outside and in the red zone.

This week the Patriots travel to Atlanta for Sunday Night Football in what could turn into a track meet or at least a high-scoring, back-and-forth game. Atlanta’s secondary has been suspect and they average the seventh-most points allowed to opposing WR. They allowed Drew Brees, Sam Bradford, and Ryan Tannehill to have nice games against them, so expect Tom Brady and the offense to move the ball well. Dobson is a risky pick since the ball distribution could change, but Brady has devoted time to working him into the offense. I think he’s a great pickup going forward and makes a serviceable bye-week fill-in or deep league flex play.
