Mario Manningham on track to return to San Francisco 49ers after Week Six
By Bryan Rose
The San Francisco 49ers didn’t need any help in dismantling the St. Louis Rams this past Thursday night, though, most of their damage came on the ground as the Niners rushed for 219 yards out of the backfield.
If there’s been one weakness for the 49ers so far this season, it’s been the lack of receivers as outside of Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis (who’s a tight end, and missed Week Three) as they’ve been nothing short of woeful.
Missing both starters, Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham, the 49ers have been forced to get creative in their wideout sets, though, thankfully some relief is on the way.
While Crabtree is still a considerable amount of time away from returning, Manningham on the other hand is progressing towards a comeback which will likely take place after the 49ers’ Week Six game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Per Matt Barrows:
"Hearing he is on track to return to practice after Week 6. …JGomes6: when u think manningham will be back"
By no stretch is Manningham a savior, though, his skill set should at minimum open up the field more, either for himself or the aforementioned Boldin or Davis which should make life easier for the 49ers passing game and quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
