Falcons’ Asante Samuel returns to game vs. Panthers
By Corey Leahy
Despite losing to the Carolina Panthers, the Atlanta Falcons still have good news. Cornerback Asante Samuel has been cleared to return to the game after leaving earlier in the contest. According to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure,
"Atlanta Falcons veteran defensive back Asante Samuel returned for the second half of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers after being evaluated for a possible head injury.Samuel was taken to the locker room near the end of the first half and was listed as questionable to return. But he was cleared medically and returned in the second half.Samuel was pushed out of bounds while defending a pass late in the second quarter. He remained on the ground for a second before walking to the sideline under his own power.Samuel was then transported to the locker room for evaluation."
He has four tackles in the game already, and could be a big help for the Falcons as they look to knock off their division opponent and leave with another win. The lead is not big enough for the Panthers to seal the deal, and the Falcons could find themselves back in it with a really good drive. It will be interesting to see what happens as we near the fourth quarter.
