The San Francisco 49ers have been waiting patiently for Michael Crabtree to return. They’ll get their wish, either tonight or next week as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on NFL Insiders that Crabtree will return to the 49ers tonight against the Washington Redskins or during San Francisco’s Week 13 matchup with the St. Louis Rams.

Crabtree of course has been out all season after suffering a torn Achilles during a team workout in the offseason.

Original estimates had the 49ers top wide receiver returning at some point in December, but the target date was moved up earlier this month when head coach Jim Harbaugh suggested that Crabtree will be ready a bit earlier than expected.

It’s likely Crabtree will workout prior to Monday nights game against the Washington Redskins to see how he feels. If he feels fine, one could assume he’ll play on a restricted snap count just to get his feet wet. If not, he’s set to return on December 1st when San Francisco hosts St. Louis.
