Rams RB Zac Stacy cleared to play vs. San Francisco 49ers
By Bryan Rose
The St. Louis Rams have a tough matchup this Sunday, but thankfully they won’t go into it without starting running back Zac Stacy who was medically cleared to play Friday morning.
Stacy had returned to practice earlier this week and practiced fully today, giving him full clearance from the medical team after the tailback suffered a concussion last week:
"The Rams 3 concussion protocol players all cleared to go Sunday: RB Zac Stacy, LG Chris Williams, CB Trumaine Johnson all listed as probable"
Benny Cunningham was expected to draw the start if Stacy was unable to go, but now with Stacy cleared and likely to start, Cunningham will slide back into a reserve role.
Stacy has been playing at a blistering pace since claiming the starting job, including four touchdowns in his past three games – one of which was cut short thanks to the injury.
It’ll be tough sledding against the 49ers vaulted front line and linebackers, but Stacy has shown an ability to rack up stats against elite defenses already.
