If Dennis Allen didn’t think his seat was hot before, he might now as Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis recently denied Allen’s request to extend the contracts of his assistant coaches.

Not only does that not bode well for the assistants, obviously, but it’s not exactly a vote of confidence for Allen either.

"Raiders owner Mark Davis recently rejected HC Dennis Allen’s request to give extensions to Oakland asst coaches in last year of their deal."

If fairness to Allen, it’s not as if the Raiders’ roster is stockpiled with Pro Bowl talent. Granted, he’s certainly made some questionable decisions at the helm but he’s seemingly been put between a rock and a hard spot given the talent surrounding him.

After starting out the year well, Oakland has fallen flat, losing six of seven and are faced with the somewhat hot San Diego Chargers and talented Denver Broncos to finish out their season. Not exactly the best schedule for Allen to make an impression with before the clock strikes twelve.
