The Pittsburgh Steelers came into Week 17 of the NFL season needing a to win their game and get a trio of losses. The AFC playoff picture was pretty clear coming into the game. The only real berth up for grabs was the No. 6 seed, and final playoff spot. With three 8-7 teams ahead of the 7-8 Steelers (the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and San Diego Chargers), they would need to beat the Browns and have those three teams lose their respective games.
If all that happens, the Steelers will advance according to NFL.com.
They held up their end defeating the Cleveland Browns. The New York Jets defeated the Dolphins, one of the teams they needed to lose. The Ravens lost to the Bengals on the road as well.
That means it all comes down to the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chargers. Unfortunately for the Steelers, the Chiefs are basically trotting out the second string line up.
