You may recall last season during the San Francisco 49ers’ Super Bowl run, a letter written by quarterback Colin Kaepernick emerged. The surfaced letter was taken from Kaepernick’s grade school days and the speedy signal caller expressed that when he grew up, he wanted to play football (and specifically be a quarterback) for the San Francisco 49ers or the Green Bay Packers.
Bit of an odd pairing? Sure – but Kaepernick grew up in the Wisconsin area before he and his family eventually moved West to California when he was four years old. That lead to a bit of a split-fandom between the 49ers and Packers as the San Francisco quarterback was rocking his green and gold back in the day at Lambeau Field.
It’s certainly has to be a bit strange for Kaepernick to be playing the Packers in each of his first two postseasons considering he grew up rooting for them.
Today will mark the first time the former Nevada quarterback will have played at Lambeau in a postseason game as last year, San Francisco hosted the Packers.
