Mark Cuban wants David Stern to fine him one final time

In just a few hours, NBA Commissioner David Stern will hold his final press conference as head of the league before he gives way to Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver in February.

Stern, despite some personality flaws, has been largely credited as the premier commissioner in professional sports during the past three decades and leaves the league in a far better standing than it was prior to his arrival.

But before he goes, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has one final request of the former lawyer. One more fine.

Cuban, who has been fined by Stern a record 19 times for nearly $2 million dollars recently told ESPNDallas.com that he needs to get one more wrist slap in before Stern rides off into the sunset:

"“We talk about it all the time,” Cuban said. “I’m going to have one final fine before he leaves.”Reached Thursday in London, where he is attending the Brooklyn Nets-Atlanta Hawks game at the O2 Arena, Stern said of Cuban’s plan to get fined: “I know he is trying, but our muffin fund coffers are overflowing.”"

While Cuban was obviously joking, he actually may get his wish, considering the Mavericks owner stormed the court after Dallas’ loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in effort to speak with the officials – something the NBA always reviews.
