NBA Trade Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves unwilling to give up first-round pick for Evan Turner
By Josh Hill
The Philadelphia 76ers remain focused on trading Evan Turner before the trade deadline rolls around in a few weeks, and the list of teams interested in the former Ohio State guard continues to grow. The Minnesota Timberwolves have coveted Turner for a while now and remain in the running to land him before the deadline.
But according to Darren Wolfson from ESPN1500 in Minneapolis, Flip Saunders and the Wolves don’t want to give up a first-round pick to acquire Turner.
Minnesota has been watching Turner since he was in the Big 10 at Ohio State, specifically Saunders who has been keeping an eye on all things pertaining to Minnesota basketball since he left back in the 2000s. But Turner coming to Minnesota seems like a long shot still, as it seems the Wolves want to hang onto draft picks they’re likely to misuse rather than deal for an immediate upgrade to the team.
