NBA Trade Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves looking to be major players at deadline
By Josh Hill
The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of washing away another lost season thanks to poor play and bad roster management. The exit of David Kahn was supposed to signal changes in the organization but instead fans are seeing more of the same.
More importantly, it appears Kevin Love is as ready to leave now than he ever was, which is saying a lot considering how badly he loathed Kahn. But The Wolves aren’t ready to throw in the towel just yet on Love nor this season and Sam Amick of USA Today reports that the team is looking to move some key players to ensure this season doesn’t end with anything less than a playoff berth.
Amick reports that the Wolves are willing to move Dante Cunningham, J.J. Barea and Alexey Shved in deals that land them the players or player they need to get over the playoff hump. Minnesota is well outside of the playoff picture at the moment, but they could still turn things around. The main focus seems to be making Kevin Love not want to leave, and making an uncharacteristically splashy trade at the deadline could be the way to go in Minneapolis.
