The Oakland Raiders will likely have some turnover in their backfield this offseason and knowing this, the team has signed free agent Kory Sheets.

Sheets worked out for the team a few weeks ago and apparently impressed, leading to the signing.

Per CFMagazine.com

"We are hearing Kory Sheets has signed with the Oakland Raiders of the NFL confirmation to come shortly"

Sheets was signed by the San Francisco 49ers in 2009 as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue. He didn’t make his NFL debut until later that season though, which came with the Miami Dolphins.

Eventually Sheets found his way out of the NFL and has spent the past two seasons playing in the CFL where he was named the MVP and lead the Saskatchewan RoughRiders to a CFL Championship this past season.

Terms of the contract have yet to be released, though given Sheets status, we’d have to assume it’s relatively team friendly and short in length.

Sheets put up 2,875 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns on 516 carries the past two years – very respectable numbers in the CFL.
