The San Francisco 49ers have four priorities going into the offseason.
In addition to drafting a wide receiver, it’s been said San Francisco wants to hammer out contract extensions for head coach Jim Harbaugh and quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers fourth and final offseason priority was to secure a long term deal with Anquan Boldin, something they’ve already began doing – this according to CSN Bay Area.
"Now, the sides are negotiating a multi-year extension that could prevent Boldin from being available when free agents can begin negotiating with other teams on March 8."
Boldin understandably enjoyed his time with San Francisco and wants to return.
It’s not known as to what type of money the 49ers are willing to commit to Boldin or for how many years, though it is a bit strange they’ve put his deal on the front burner. Of course, we may not have heard of any potential pending deals with Harbaugh or Kaepernick, but for now it appears San Francisco and Boldin are putting in work on an extension before the veteran can hit free agency.
