Roddy White is hoping to work out a long-term deal with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, but those plans are going to have to be put on hold following the Pro Bowl receiver’s arrest on Tuesday morning. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta police arrested White for failing to appear in court.
"White allegedly failed to appear in court on a traffic charge out of Dacula. The Gwinnett sheriff’s website shows an outstanding warrant for White on a charge of “non-transparent material on windows.”"
White has since been released after posting a bond that was just $168, so it’s not as though this is some sort of scandal brewing beneath the surface. Still, White was arrested for failing to appear in court which is sort of a double whammy. It’s like getting detention for skipping detention, only White failed to appear in court for at traffic violation.
The Falcons may end up disciplining White, but this likely won’t become a massive issue. Atlanta can’t be pleased with White though and this may come up when he tries to negotiate a new deal.
