NBA Rumors: Kevin Love says rumors he wants to leave Timberwolves are media driven
By Josh Hill
With the NBA trade deadline now behind us, the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to start getting more and more attention. Some of this attention might come because the team starts winning, but a large majority of it will be pointed in their direction thanks to the rumors that Kevin Love wants out and will be signing with another team in 2015.
Love addressed those rumors on Thursday and stated that everything he’s hearing is ‘media-driven’ and that he’s not thinking about 2015 right now.
Per the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
"“It’s a media-driven story. For the past couple years, I can’t believe some of the stuff that has come out. We went out and played hard last night, great performance as a team. To see some stuff like that is just kind of disheartening. … The worst part is it takes away from the team and I have to be here answering questions today after a great performance from us last night.”"
Love didn’t go on to say he intends to stay in Minnesota, but he also didn’t close the door to the idea either. This may end up being a case where Love decides to stay in Minnesota just to spite the people who tried to force a destiny on him– assuming a winning team has been assembled.
2015 is along ways away and plenty can happen between now and then, but Love clearly isn’t dwelling on the future the way he’s being portrayed as and that’s something Wolves fans are happy to hear.
