The Green Bay Packers and wide receiver Jordy Nelson are expected to agree on a contract extension at some point this offseason, though, there’s currently no timetable on a deal getting done.
That said, the two sides have talked about a potential deal – but that’s as far as things have gotten so far.
"Conversations have been ongoing between the #Packers and the representative for Jordy Nelson, but there’s no timetable to get a deal done."
The Packers and Nelson seem to be doing their due diligence here as many teams interested in extending contracts of currently signed players have met in recent days.
There’s been no indication from Nelson that he’d like to test the open market at this time and loves playing for the Packers. The feeling appears to be mutual (understandably) as the Packers are more than open to bringing him back.
Green Bay had locked Nelson up to a relatively team friendly deal in 2011, though they’re likely to dip further into their pockets this go around as Nelson should command upwards of $10 million annually.
