Minor league baseball teams have to get creative when it comes to marketing. And that marketing doesn’t just stop with in-stadium promotions.
Sure – those are important in terms of bringing people to the ballpark, but what do you do to get attention outside of your local area? Maybe show off your new ‘bacon’ logo?
That’s exactly what the Lehigh Valley IronPigs did recently as they debuted their new alternate cap and uniform which feature, yes, you guessed it – a strip of bacon on their hat.
Here is the full uniform unveiling:

If you look at the middle cap (which appears gray in the photo) you’ll see that odd logo on the hat. That’s the bacon strip.

Now, on the surface, it’s hard to imagine a lot of people actually wearing a baseball hat with a strip of bacon on it. But the best selling minor league hats are always the unique – like the Lake Elsinore Storm who put crazy eyes on their hat.
Should be interesting to see the sales numbers on this down the road.
