The NFL Draft rumor mill is starting to churn quite heavily and has now suggested the Oakland Raiders prefer Derek Carr to Johnny Manziel, this according to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times.

Farmer says word out of the combine hints that while Manziel would be a strong fit for the Raiders, they prefer the Fresno State signal caller.

"The Raiders are known for their unconventional picks, so Manziel might seem like a natural fit for them. Word is, though, that they liked Carr more coming out of the combine."

Maybe more shocking than the Raiders selecting Carr over Manziel is the fact that Farmer has the former Texas A&M quarterback falling to the Minnesota Vikings, who select eighth, in his most recent mock draft.

If such a move happened, you’d have to think the Vikings would be jumping for joy.

For what it’s worth, Carr has Teddy Bridgewater going third to the Jacksonville Jaguars with Blake Bortles going fourth to the Cleveland Browns.

Should be an interesting few weeks to say the least.
