The Chicago Bears rose a few eyebrows on Monday afternoon as they unexpectedly released tight end Dante Rosario.

There’s a few reasons the release caused head scratches.
Rosario (though a bit of a space cadet at times) has shown an ability to produce on the field at times. Granted, consistency has been a problem, but as a backup he can get the job done. More shocking though was the fact that Bears recently re-signed Rosario to a one-year contract just last month and decided to part ways today.
It’s not known if it was simply a football related decision or if there was something else behind the move, though whatever the case Rosario’s tenure with the Bears is over.
He shouldn’t have trouble latching on to a new team as a backup given how often teams are looking for tight end depth.
Rosario, in addition to likely being a backup tight end, is an average special teams player though has proven to be a solid run blocker.
