The New York Jets have plenty of holes to plug, two of which are wide receiver and kick returner.
They might be able to patch such with Jacoby Ford, who the Jets are reportedly interested in.
Ford’s interest could be mutual given he has an already established connection with Jets wide receiver coach Sanjay Lal who he played under with the Oakland Raiders.
"Jets have shown interest in free agent WR Jacoby Ford, according to a source. Ford played for Jets WR coach Sanjay Lal in Oakland. #nyj"
The veteran has never shown his true potential and has become more of a speed freak than an actual football player, though, is still a playmaker given his wheels.
In terms of a wide receiver, Ford leaves plenty to be desired but he’d be a more than adequate addition if he was regulated to kick and punt return duties. Of course, given the Jets relatively weak receiver corps, Ford would likely find the field on offense which isn’t exactly ideal – though he does get the occasional burn on a deep ball.
