Despite a fantastic 2013 season, the career of eventual Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning is nearing a close in the next few seasons.

Some have suggested that Manning possibly take up acting given his previous stints in commercials and Saturday Night Live spoofs, but famed Hollywood director Brett Ratner isn’t much of a fan – at least not in regards to having him star in his directed flicks.

Ratner, who has directed music videos for some of music’s biggest names (Mariah Carey, Jay Z, etc) and films like Rush Hour was pressed on Manning’s acting chops as he came out of Craig’s in downtown Los Angeles.

A bit perplexed, Ratner seemed initially confused by the question at first but quickly shut down the idea of Manning being in any of his films.

"Ratner — who directed the “Rush Hour” flicks — was leaving Craig’s in L.A. last night when we asked if he’d ever consider Peyton for a role in his movies … since guys like Jeremy Piven say Manning’s developed a great reputation as a commercial actor. But Brett was quick to shoot it down — telling TMZ Sports he just doesn’t think Peyton’s got what it takes to make the jump to the big screen."

Maybe Ratner’s never seen Manning on SNL because dude is hilarious:
