Major League Baseball has decided that corporate sponsorships are for the birds and will be borrowing from their history book to honor both Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman.

According to CBS Sports, both Rivera and Hoffman will have their named attached to the updated reliever award which honors the best relief pitcher in both the American and National Leagues.

Rivera of course spent his entire career with the New York Yankees and his name will be attached to the American League version of the award while longtime San Diego Padres closer Trevor Hoffman will have his name attached to the National League award.

"Major League Baseball will add two big touches of class to its top reliever award, with sources saying it plans to rename the annual honor for the best reliever in each league after brilliant all-time bullpen greats Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman."

While the award honor will be available to any and all relievers, the reality is the award will go to the top closing pitchers in each league.

Still, a very awesome way to honor Rivera and Hoffman, who both sit at first and second overall in all-time saves.
