The Atlanta Falcons are picking sixth in the NFL Draft this May but there’s an expectation that they’re going to be moving around and won’t make their final selection at that slot. While Atlanta is rumored to be looking at trading up to possibly draft Jadeveon Clowney or even Sammy Watkins, there’s also a possibility that they trade down and still get a player they covet.

According to Falcons beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter, Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could be a target for the Falcons and he may even motivate them to trade back and compile picks.

Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"If the Falcons trade back and out of the No. 6 slot, keep an eye on Clinton-Dix. Also, they could trade back into the first round if they stand pat in order to draft him if he slips into the 20s. The Falcons have a hole at free safety after cutting Thomas DeCoud. They recently signed veteran Dwight Lowery."

There’s an obvious need to safety when it comes to the Falcons defensive outlook in 2014 and that’s something Clinton-Dix could help out with. He’s believed to be one of the two best safeties in the draft and one of the upper echelon talents in his class.

No one knows what Atlanta will do, but it’s clear that if they make a trade, moving up isn’t their only option.
