Fresh off the heels of honoring NFL great Jerry Rice with his own shoes, Nike is doing so again,  but this time for multi-sport star Bo Jackson.

The former running back/outfielder was an enigma on the football field or baseball diamond. Hell, Jackson was even unstoppable virtually as his video game character was legendary.

Wanting to honor one of their first true ‘stars’, Nike is planning to release the ‘Broken Bats’ Nike Air Trainer SC with the initial release appearing in Kansas City Royals colors. That makes sense given the ‘broken bat’ moniker stems from the time when Jackson crushed a bat over his head while with the Royals.

So how do you get your hands on a pair? Well, you’ll need to wait a few days as they’re not scheduled to be available until April 25th. As for the price, they’ll command a rather hefty $130 dollars.

Regardless, that doesn’t take away from how awesome the shoes are. Maybe not on the same level as the Jerry Rice sneakers, but still pretty bad ass. And don’t even get me started on the 16-bit video game caricature of Jackson on the shoe tongue.
