Thursday afternoon, just seven days away from the 2014 NFL Draft getting started, Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith addressed the media and he did indeed confirm that the team is open to trading their top overall pick. It’s been rumored for quite some time, but to hear it right from his mouth made it all seem very real that we’re headed for a week of chaos coming up.

Now the question is who would be the team –or teams –that would be the most interested in getting up to that top slot, and according to Albert Breer there are three potential candidates in the form of the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills.

All three of these organizations have expressed interest in the freakish former SEC defensive stud, most notably the Falcons who just had an extended meeting with Clowney which included putting him through a “force plate” to gauge his long-term durability.

Still, each of these franchises could use the help on the defensive side of the ball, and Clowney could fit their needs perfectly.

It should be one wild week ahead.
