A little brotherly love between two teams in the same city never hurt anybody, right?

The Baltimore Ravens may not agree as last season, the Orioles refused to change their game time to accommodate the Ravens (coming off a Super Bowl victory none the less) but that won’t be the case in Motown thanks to the Detroit Tigers.

Understanding that fans will want to watch and/or possibly attend the Detroit Lions season opener, the Tigers have decided to start their September 8th game against the Kansas City Royals a few hours earlier.

Per Detroit News:

"To accommodate all fans attending the Tigers and Lions games on Monday, Sept. 8, first pitch for the Detroit Tigers game against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park has been changed to 4:08 p.m.The Lions open the regular season against the New York Giants at 7:10 p.m. in an ESPN nationally televised game at Ford Field."

The originally scheduled night game will come after a Sunday day game against the San Francisco Giants, so the Tigers should be relatively refreshed for the contest.
