The New England Patriots have been very interested in quarterback prospects during the pre-draft process.
They had all of the top quarterbacks in for visits, but wound up going with former Florida Gators’ defensive lineman Dominique Easley in the first round, filling an immediate need.
Still, they would like to find the heir to Tom Brady and could do that on Friday night.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, one player they are very interested in is former Pittsburgh Panthers’ quarterback Tom Savage.
Can't help but wonder if Tom Savage ends up w/the Pats, with his former coach at Rutgers, Greg Schiano, very close with Belichick...

If the Patriots do draft Savage, that could pave the way for a Ryan Mallett trade.
If the Pats take a QB, obviously we'd hear even more about Mallett to the Texans. Bengals could be landing spot for Savage as well

Savage is reportedly well-respected in New England with several in the Patriots’ organization even referring to him as “Tom #2.”
Savage completed 238 of 389 passes for 2,958 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2013.
