The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers don’t like each other on their best of days.

And when one player decides to show up another? Well, that’s going to get already bad blood boiling.

That’s exactly what happened on Friday night after Dodgers outfielder and notorious bat flipper Yasiel Puig launched a home run against Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner. Not only did Puig give a rather epic flip of the bat, but he certainly took his time rounding the bases much to the chagrin of Bumgarner and the Giants.

Because of that, the Giants ace decided he’d wait for Puig as he rounded third base and could be seen mouthing off to the powerful Dodgers phenom.

Clearly the back and forth wasn’t an attempt to schedule dinner plans, but Bumgarner decided he’d take the high road in regards to speaking to the media.

“I was just congratulating him. That was a really good swing. I don’t know why everybody got so mad. That was pretty impressive. I don’t know what happened. Again, I don’t know why everybody got so mad. It escalated quickly for no reason. I think he said, ‘Thank you,’ I’m not sure if he did. I don’t speak Spanish very well.”

Bumgarner came away with the last laugh as his Giants defeated the Dodgers 3-1. You can watch the full play here.
