The Indiana Pacers know that defeating the Miami Heat in a seven-game series will not be easy, though if Dwyane Wade isn’t healthy, that certainly increases their chances of making the NBA Finals.
Knowing that, Indiana Pacers swingman Lance Stephenson says his plan is to to be ‘extra aggressive’ and hope the end result is Wade’s troublesome knee flaring up.
“D. Wade — I think his knee is messed up, so I’ve got to be extra aggressive and make him run and have him running around and make his knee flare up or something,” he said after the Pacers practiced this afternoon. “I’ll do anything as much as possible.”
The comment may catch some flak, though, there’s not much wrong with Stephenson suggesting such as he’s not wishing injury on Wade, rather stating he’s going to work extra hard in hopes to limit Wade’s effectiveness.
“It’s just basketball,” Stephenson said. “If I see D. Wade walking in the street, I won’t try to get him. It’s just basketball and just playing hard against each other. We both have a goal and neither of is gonna allow that to happen easily. I don’t got no problems with them, but on the court there’s no friends.”
The 2014 NBA Playoffs have been fantastic and the Eastern Conference Finals between Miami and Indiana will only be icing on the cake.
