Yovani Gallardo exits game with leg injury
By Hayden Kane
Playing a key series against a fellow National League division leader in the Atlanta Braves, the Milwaukee Brewers got a bad break in the fourth inning of their game on Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo injured his leg while trying to field a chopper back to the mound and was forced to exit early.
As reported by Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
The Brewers had to tap into their bullpen, which has been a stellar group so far this season, to get them through the bulk of the game. Gallardo has pitched well this season, entering this start with a 2-2 record and a solid 3.07 ERA.

As Joe Morgan of MLB.com notes, the injury ended an impressive streak for Gallardo. Entering Tuesday’s start he had gone at least 5 2/3 innings in 17 straight starts. With that behind him, the Brewers will just hope that Gallardo is able to be back on the mound for his next scheduled start.
